Announcements for August 8th

Just a couple announcements to make before the tournament.

Tee times start at 9, so people ought to plan to get there at least by 8:30 or so. Check in will be before we tee off. Everyone will pay their own green fees ($40) at the clubhouse, and then pay the $25 (cash or check)fee to the person at check in. You will receive your gift bag after checking in. If you don’t know where the course is,,, google it.

We appreciate everyone that has donated this year and in the past. We use the donations as prizes and for the raffle at the end to make it fun for people to possibly win a prize

We will not have a professional photographer out there to capture moments throughout the day, so we encourage everyone to bring a camera and take photos and video to add to the post tournament slideshow that we'll post on the site.

Instructions for the contests will be handed out at check in. Then we will take some minutes after playing to award the prizes and congratulate the winners and cool down with drinks and such.

The team colors seem to be a big hit and so we’ll continue with that tradition. We are setting the dress code for this year’s tournament as Khaki shorts (or pants depending on whether you have your tour card or not) and the colored collared shirt of your team’s color. As far as grooming, we are asking that everyone be clean shaven, and hair maintained at an appropriate length (no, just kidding on the grooming).

Teams will be announced very shortly so stayed tuned here on the site or on your cellular.

Instructions

The welcoming committee welcomes all the participants. We are less than a week away and the excitement level is maybe the highest its ever been for the tournament. As you know, this is the 6th Annual Jackson Invitational and we appreciate all of you for helping this get to what it is today. Once again, we have some players that are new to the tourney and some that have been here since the beginning, so we thank you all for being here. It is anybody's race this year and we wish you all luck as you cram to get your game ready

There are a few things to go over before hand. Tee times start at 9:oo A.M. sharp, so arrive accordingly. There is an individual competition where there will be a gross winner and a net winner. There is also a team competition called "The Hot Seat". This is a game where you take the two best scores on a hole. The catch is that one of the scores has to be the person on the hot seat. You are on the hot seat every fourth hole. For example, Schafer might be on the hot seat on #1, #5, #9, and #13. And Tyler would take #2, #6, #10 etc. You have to take every fourth hole so there might be some strategizing to take advantage of certain players strengths. The order must be designated before teeing off on the 1st tee, on your honor. The last two holes will just be your two best balls. There will also be two closest to the holes and one long drive competition. Also, there is going to be a raffle at the end.

How does it all work? Well, there is a $25 entrance fee in addition to the green fees. Those will need to be paid Saturday morning upon check in. We also want to encourage everyone to make a donation of you'd like, big or small. Anything would be gladly accepted and will add to the post-tournament fun. We will give some of the donations away for prizes and the others we will raffle off at the end.
