Further Instruction
Welcome back!!! We can't believe it is here again. This is a very special year as it is the 5th annual Jackson Invitational and could be the most exciting tournament we've had. Some of you have been here since the beginning, some just a year or two and some others will be playing for the first time and we are honored to have you all. We also want to thank you for your participation and all of your contributions that help make this a great event. We should have a very competitive race this year and everyone should have an excellent chance to win, now that Tiger is out for the season.
We are less than 3 weeks away now and want to get the word out early for people to reserve the date. Sept. 6 will come very fast, especially for those that are doing last minute cramming to get their golf swing ready. There are a few things to go over before hand. Tee times start at 7:oo A.M. sharp, so arrive accordingly (preferably around 6:30). There is an individual competition where there will be a gross winner and a net winner. There is also a team competition called "The Hot Seat". This is a game where you take the two best scores on a hole. The catch is that one of the scores has to be the person on the hot seat. You are on the hot seat every fourth hole. For example, Schafer might be on the hot seat on #1, #5, #9, and #13. And Tyler would take #2, #6, #10 etc. You have to take every fourth hole so there might be some strategizing to take advantage of certain players strengths. The order must be designated before teeing off on the 1st tee, on your honor. The last two holes will just be your two best balls. There will also be two closest to the holes and one long drive competition. Also, there is going to be a raffle at the end.
How are we going to get all these prizes you might ask. Well, there is a $25 entrance fee in addition to the green fees. Those will need to be paid Saturday morning upon check in. We also want to remind you that if you have something to donate, big or small, it is gladly accepted and adds to the post-tournament fun.
Information on the post-tournamnet ceremony will be coming shortly, so stay tuned and keep some time free. As for Teams and Team colors, we will be announcing those the week prior to the tournament and will have strict enforcement on team uniforms this year.
